PROJECTS
We have chosen several high-profile projects prepared by Chris VerPlanck over the last decade or so. Most were prepared within the last five years by either Kelley & VerPlanck Historical Resources Consulting (2007-2010) or by Knapp & VerPlanck Preservation Architects (2010-2011), although we have included several projects completed by Mr. VerPlanck when he was employed at Page & Turnbull. The write-ups for each project indicate the year that each project was completed, the client, and if any other people were involved in the completion of the project. The projects represent a cross-section of some of Mr. VerPlanck's best-known and most compelling work, including historic resource inventories, historic context statements, CEQA studies, National Register nominations, and local landmark nominations.
Most of the projects are located in San Francisco, although several are located within the greater Bay Area and beyond. What links this body of work together is the intellect, care, and enthusiasm that went into each and every one of them. These projects are not just Mr. VerPlanck's livelihood — they are what make him get up every morning and continue to engage him with local and regional history, as well as the hundreds of different property types that characterize California's built environment in the early 21st century. We invite you to peruse the projects pages and to learn about any projects that are interesting to you. If for any reason you still have questions about any of them, please feel free to call or email Chris VerPlanck.
